What is Your Weakness Interview Question – One of the most feared questions in the interviews by many of the jobseekers is: “What is your biggest weakness?”. But did you know that there are ways to answer this question without looking bad in the eyes of the recruiter?
One way is to share a weakness of the past and then say a current force. But watch out! If you refer to a weakness and do not demonstrate what you have learned from it and what you have been doing to improve it, it may be detrimental to your application.
Here are three ways you can answer this question from Work id Daily and show recruiters how you can be a good candidate.

1. Weakness that has surpassed
Choose a weakness that you actually have and preferably work-related that you have already transformed into a force. Example: Perfectionism.
Be realistic (but do not overdo it or give too much detail) to show the recruiter during interviews how a particular weakness has had a negative impact on you or your professional environment.
Exemplify without extrapolating: “At the beginning of my career I was eager to prove that I could do this, and my determination to do everything right made me an extreme perfectionist. Although I did not expect the perfection of the teams I led, it demanded a lot from me, which even resulted in health problems. ”
3. Show the overshoot
Use the DAR (Challenge – Action – Outcome) format to show the recruiter the steps you’ve taken to get around this and to highlight the results your efforts have brought to your performance and team.
Example: “As an assiduous and everlasting reader, I have discovered a set of solutions that I could implement. I took stock of my personal and professional life, learned to deal positively with stress, and realigned my expectations with reality. This process took some time, but with discipline, I was able to solve my health problems and rekindle my passion for work. I believe this effort is constant and so I am referring to myself as a recovering perfectionist. ”
Remember that recruiters want sincerity in this response and want to be able to understand you better as a person. Show that you know your weaknesses and that you have developed actions so that you can improve both personally and professionally. An honest answer demonstrates your approach to problem-solving and the ability to learn from failure.
Tip: Note that this answer can be spoken comfortably in 30 seconds. Try to keep all your answers under two minutes unless you are asked questions that require a different approach. Strive to change the course of the conversation again to something good.
Avoid becoming one of these candidates:
The candidate who refuses to share a weakness or says he does not have any: they try to deflect the issue, say they can not think of anything, or claim they have no significant weakness. No one is perfect and if you do, your response will be considered false and you may miss the opportunity to continue the recruitment process.
That candidate who says his weakness and inadvertently pays a lot of attention to a negative issue instead of starting to solve the problem, leaving the recruiter with a negative impression of his candidacy.
In interviews, showing their weakness and how they overcome daily, reveals their resilience, a characteristic well liked by most companies.
